Arch Studio 1.4.0
Arch Studio becomes an extensible, local-first studio framework: user-owned studio and project workspaces, firm and project skills, linked project records and portable CSV data, installed under the shorter as plugin identity.

01
What’s new
- Studio and project workspaces: /as:studio sets up and manages a portable STUDIO.md registry with project folders, and /as:project maintains project facts and decision records.
- Firm-owned skills: studios include a skills folder, and /as:skill-maker creates private firm or project procedures there, outside the installed plugin.
- Linked project records: work plans, meeting minutes, site visit reports, tasks with permanent IDs and user-confirmed time entries are separate project records with explicit source links and non-destructive history.
- /as:workplan: a planning workflow for repository, operational and AEC delivery work that separates facts from assumptions and stops at an explicit handoff.
- Portable product data: product-library.csv is the persistent FF&E library, replacing Google Sheets persistence. EPD records are saved to epd-library.csv only when you choose to, and SIF remains available for interchange.
- Reviewed feedback: /as:studio-feedback prepares a bug report or feature request for GitHub, flags sensitive project information and never submits it for you.
- Opt-in update checking: disabled until enabled through /as:studio, then at most one request per day.
- Onboarding: /as:studio shows the product mark and provenance before setup, uses one structured prompt per question, and a first-session notice points to /as:studio and /as:learn without changing your first reply. Installing the plugin creates no workspace, account, cloud store or repository.
- /as:learn is restructured into six modules named for their lessons, with a single fictional Brooklyn art museum expansion as the sandbox project, and it teaches how this version handles project files and prompts.
- Fix: /as:skill-maker target resolution, collision handling and bundled paths are hardened, the first-session notice verifies what it reports, and a plan-mode instruction that could switch permission modes is removed from the course.
02
Known limitations
- XLS and XLSX product support and configured studio connectors are not part of 1.4.
- Existing master-schedule.json files and older cloud configuration are preserved but not migrated; export former cloud rows to CSV before importing.
03
Upgrade and migration
- The plugin identity changes to as@skills-for-architects and commands use /as:<skill>. Update and reinstall: claude plugin marketplace update skills-for-architects, claude plugin uninstall architecture-studio@skills-for-architects, claude plugin install as@skills-for-architects, then reload plugins or restart Claude Code.
- /as:project replaces /as:project-dossier and /decision; no aliases remain.
- PROJECT.md no longer keeps a Decisions table. In an existing project, run /as:project migrate and review the proposed changes; the table is removed only after every row matches a decision file.
- Reinstalling changes plugin code only. It does not delete or rewrite your projects, records, studio files or custom skills.
- Moving directly from 1.2 or earlier: uninstall the numbered plugins, update the marketplace and install as@skills-for-architects; installing 1.3 first is not required.
