## What it does

Give Norma a lighting report and the rooms or surfaces to examine. Norma extracts the report’s values and keeps calculation results separate from fixture inventory. Norma does not run a new lighting simulation.

## Install

Connect Arch Studio in Claude or ChatGPT, then return to your conversation and ask Norma for the task. Your assistant uses its available file access and tools to carry out the skill.

## Usage

Ask Norma in plain language. With Arch Studio connected through MCP, no $ or / command is required. Norma is your assistant working with Arch Studio.

```text
Use Arch Studio to extract the reported lighting results for Room 201 from this PDF. Keep the workplane separate from the floor surface, cite the actual pages and distinguish fixture inventory from calculation results.
```

<a id="capability-scope"></a>

## What it extracts

### Calculation results

Norma retains each reported metric, unit, surface and room with its table or page reference.

### Fixture inventory

Norma records inventory separately so repeated tables are not added together as new fixtures.

### Report coverage

Norma distinguishes physical pages from printed labels and identifies missing or unreadable portions of the report.

<a id="capability-method"></a>

## Workflow

1. **Read** — Norma inventories the actual report pages and selected scope.
2. **Extract** — Norma reads the relevant tables and retains exact source locations.
3. **Review** — Norma reports the extracted values and any ambiguous or missing evidence.

<a id="capability-pairs"></a>

## Pairs with

Norma can compare a properly scoped inventory extraction with another quantity source.
